Robyn had walked from the town to the fine stables known as Emeral Hill Barn. She had heard by word of mouth, that the owners were looking for a head groom and Robyn was in need of a job and there was nothing more she loved than working with her equine friends.
As she walked up the drive, she looked on either side of her, paddocks with the lushest green grass imaginable and some fine looking horses within the paddocks. Robyn smiled softly. She knew some places which were high in technology standard could be cold hearted, but something about this place eased Robyn's mind. It had a warm cheerful welcome and the horses certinly looked very happy.
The arenas were spotless and set out perfectly, one for each discipline. Stables lined along in a circle with a shower area in the middle. A feed room which gave off that gorgeous smell Robyn adored and the sweet sharp scent of leather came from what Robyn assumed the tack room.
This place looked perfect. Infact, to good to be true. Perhaps Robyn was not what the owners would expect and want. She was an expert with English riding but she followed traditional techinques aswell as modern. A crack of the whip was not always the cure for a problem. Patience and trust was a medicine that could cure anything aswell as a good heart and a good pair of ears.
Robyn had her long brion hair tied back in a ponytail plait, she wore light toned blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a navy hoodie on with the words "moody mare" written on the back in white font an finally, long black riding boots. She carried only a medium sized backpack, a few things like past contracts with people she had worked for, newspaper articles as proof she had worked with some big named horses and photographs of her in action. She followed the recption signs and walked right in, making sure she wipped her feet on the mat first, before going to the receptionist.
Hi. My name's Robyn Smith. Im here about the advertisment about the position of head groom. I called about 4 days ago.

.:Michael:.
.:I've been given the position to take care of boardings as my mother was looking for horses that was for sale, and my sister was probably training her wounded stud. I was looking at some feed papers as I heard a voice. I looked up giving her a warm welccoming smile as I stood up and reached my hand easily out to give her a shake. Hi Miss.Smith and welcome to Emerald Hill Barn, I'm Michael Green. If I could just get to know who you have been working for and what you would prefere the most I would gladly give you the job. First impression was always important for him and nayone in his family as they new Emerald Hill was a beautiful barn with different types of warmbloods, hanoverians, oldenburgs, friesians and holsteiners. He looked at Robyn with a bright and warm smile as he wondered who she had worked for before she came here:.[/b]

Robyn shook his hand and smiled. The worst was over. Micheal. Nice to meet you. Right well, I got a few copies of contratcs that I was given from previous yards Ive worked on and some articles with horses Ive worked with, if you would care to take a look? she replied as she slipped her rucksack off and unzipped the front pocket to take out the brown folder. She put the folder on the desk and opened it taking out the contract copies and turning them to face Micheal. [
b]Before I moved over here I used to work in the UK. Ive worked as a groom on a few yards, showjumping horses mostly, but a few raceing ones here and there. The most famous horse Ive managed to work with was Desert Orchid who died last year of old age. And Ive, worked with some 3 day event horses, some owned by Pippa Funnell and William Fox Pitt. Since Ive been in the area Ive only just started Western ridig, like rodeo and cow cutting etc, but my main concenr in English [/b] she stopped to allow Micheal to take in the information. And Ive been working with horses since I was a child. My father was a dealer so Ive seen the worst and best, I guess. Ive also worked on yards that assiste horses with fears and phobias and learnt traditional methods of inner healing to cure mental and emotional problems Robyn finished completly. She had said most of the important stuff, now she would answer any questions asked. [/blockquote][/size]

.:I smiled at her and listened silently before I looked in the contracts and read some here and there. Closing it I looked at her and gave her a sweet smile again. I'm pleased to hear that you have worked some with problem horses, and some with healing as we do it a bit here as well. My little sister is the one who will be given you a permant horse here while you are working. You would probably be working most with Melanie as she is our trainer here, but she only trains the horses with the most problems. So I'm glad to announce Miss.Smith that teh job is yours if you want to have the job as the stable hand here? I smiled at her as I waited knowing my sister would soon come with her troubeled stud. Suddenly hearing the tripping I sighed and walked past Roby opening the door. Mel, tye Landon up and come in, I have someone you should meet. I smiled and turned towards Robyn as I spoke. Landon is my sister champion, but recently his been in an accident and has hurt himself badly. His soon recovered so she is giving him light training for now. I heard my sisters footsteps as I waited for something to happen:.
.:Melanie:.
.:I sighed hearign my brother call for me. What is it now? I thought as I tyed teh 16,3 hands tall bay scarred stud and opened the door. Seeing a girl I couldn't help but smile, yet i got slightly confused but reached my hand out as well as I spoke with sweet lyrics. Hi I'm Melanie Green Mikes little sister, welcome to Emerlad Hill Barn Miss..? I questioned slightly. Unlike my brothers brown short hair I had much more longer auburn hair as I had put it in a ponytail. MY clothes was decent but simpel as a simpel pair of ridingpants and ridingboots were matching the lavendel sweater I was wearing:.[/b]

Robyn listened to Micheal and smiled. She too heard the comotion outside as she put the contratcs back into the folder. She looked to Micheal as another girl walked in and introduced herself. Robyn quickly slung her rucksack on her back again and smiled as she shook Melaine's hand. Robyn, Robyn Smith. Its nice to meet you Melanie Robyn spoke.
Now that Micheal had accepted her and she had now met the person she wa smost likely to work with a great relief came over Robyn. She had gotten quite nervous about this but now she was more excited than ever.

.:Michael:.
.:I smiled and spoke easy. Melanie could you help Miss.Robyn with one of the horses here? I told her she would be given a horse while she is working here, oh and she would work with you as well. Well my ladies I'll give you to girls alone as I will retret to my own mare. It was nice to mee you Robyn, and I know we'll meet soon again. I gave her a smile before I walked out and towards the private barn and towards my own mare:.
.:Melanie:.
.:I nodded before I looked at Robyn with a smile. It's nice to meet you Robyn, if you coem with me I'll show you the lesson barn were we can find a horse that can fit you. Wanna go now or do you want to talk a bit first? I asked easy and gave her a friendly smile. I heard Landon pawing the ground and rolled my eyes inside, he had the patience of, she wouldn't know but his patience was really low. I looked at Robyn as I waited easy glad that we had gotten a girl as a stable hand:.[/b]

Robyn smiled and shurgged. Lets do both at the same time. So, how long have you owned Emerald Hill? Robyn asked as she began walking with Melanie outside. She met the horse that was tied up and pawing the ground impatiently. She smiled and looked out and over the yard. It seemed to go on for miles. The drive was certinly a long walk! It wouldnt suprise Robyn if the Barn was gigantic. Is this your horse? she asked pointing at Landon

.:I smiled and nodded as she pointed at the scarred bay horse. He moved away form the girl a bit as I walked over stroking his neck. Yeah, easy boy she's not dangerous, she's just as Brad adn you already know him don't you. The horse snorted lightly and nudged my hair insted playfully and calm. Thats better, his real name is Lordons Boy, but we only call him Landon. I'm sorry that you can see his scars, they'll go away after some time. Her finger automaticly ran down one of his scars as the flesh wound under his left eye was just an oval dark scar right now, his velvet coat hadn't grown there yet as I clicked my tounge easy making him come on my left side as I came by her side. Ready to go to the lesson barn? We have different horse all fom mares to stallions to geldings, tehy have different personalities as I train the ones with the most enrgy. I rolled my eyes a bit as Landon began to tripp showign that he could be full of energy as the stallion he was:.[/b]

Robyn looked over Landon and a frown crossed her face. It was such a shame to see a beautiful creature scarred as badly as that. Still, hopefully the stallion would overcome his problems. Robyn smiled as they continued to the barn Well Im easy. I like working with all sorts of horses. I enjoy a challenge now and then she replied Erm, Id like to mention that I bought an Arab stallion form the auction site the other day. It looks like hes been badly abused. He freaks out everytime a man appraoches him. I wont keep him for very long. I never do. I onyl train and cure horses then sell them to good homes where I know theyll be happy. I hope this isnt a problem... she spoke quietly fiddling with her fingers as she hoped inside deep down in her gut that Mel would say everything was fine and that she could keep him on this yard....

.:Melanie:.
.:I smiled as I tryed to calm the stud down as he was just playful. No it's not a problem at all, it would probably seem that he was only abused by men though. I hate it when horses get abused, I've had Landon since he was 1 year and he had already been abused harshly, now his old owner his haunting me cause his a real champion. He was the one that made Landon look like this, but I shouldn't bother you with what that had happened. But I would love to see the arabian stud, they're really beautiful creatures. Maybe I could watch you from the upper arena? I pointed at a small arena that was more of a tower as it wouldn't bother any horses at all. Coming to the lesson barn one of the mare whined flirtingly at Landon. I tyed him outside as I walked with Robyn insisde the barn. Making a halt I leaned againast the stall to a chocoalte brown mare. This is Dream, she is the fiestiest and the one I train for the most. But do you have any special request on wich gender you want the horse to be? I asked as an ebonite massive head shot out with flat ears. Oh and thats Bukefalos, to be a gelding his kinda fiesty. If you wanna know what all of the horses names is you can just ask me if you wonder of anything. I said sweet and friendly:.[/b]

Robyn smiled Thank you When she saw the mare she smiled and tickled her muzzle before looking at Bukefalos. He did seem quite intimidating but Robyn knew not to be afrraid of any horse. Fear would only frightened them. Im not that fussy really. Seeing as I own a stallion already perhaps a gelding or mare? Id prefer a gelding I think. Khoal would probably be easier to handle without a mare's scent all over me Robyn spoke as she looked at Bukefalos and smiled softly Your handsome arnt you? She patted him on his forhead before walking on slightly How many horses do you have in total?

.:Melanie:.
.:I thought a bit before I spoke. With the lesson and private we have 10 horses and we have 5 boarding horses if I'm not wrong. hey if you want you could try Bukefalos? I have like four horses I traon on my own. Dream here, Wind Chaser thats the grey andalusien stud there, Landon that you've met and a mare that all of a sudden panics thats named Nala. I think you and Bukefalos would have good to know each other. If you wanna try him his sadle and bridle is in the tack room his name is over it. I pointed at the tack room that was beside the stall with a dark bay oldenburg mare. Wind Chaser let out his head as he snorted looking at the girl before he nickered a greeting to me. I smiled and saw Bukefalos snort before trying to nipp the unknown girl. He snorted lightly and stood eventually still looking at the girl a bit curious:.[/b]

Robyn listened to Mel and nodded Yeah, okay Bukefalos it is then she replied with a smile looking at the tack and at Wind Chaser. As Bukefalos tried to bite Robyn, she gave a very stern warning by tapping him on his muzzle firmly. I dont take kindly to horses that bite. Manners will get you far in life Bukefalos she spoke pointing to the stallion as if he was human. But that was how Robyn treated horses. To her they were powerful creatures that could kill therefore they deserved respect but also needed to know that they would have to respect others in return. Ill take him in the arena later. But at the moment I'd like to take a look around and get to know the place before I really start working. Thanks for everything Mel. I'll see you later? Robyn asked looking at her for an answer.

.:I smiled and nodded. Yeah, I'm in the next barn were the private horses are, you can have your arabian there and meet the three otehrs as Michael is out with his mare right now. I gave her s mile before I walkeed out after giving the mare a stroke on her neck and walked to the bay stud. Untying him I stroke his forehead some before I started walking to the barn hearing and feeling Landon following with his own will as he always trusted me:.[/b]
